Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Greg Casar introduced a bill this week that would permanently outlaw superintelligent artificial intelligence, with penalties of up to twenty years in prison. The legislation defines superintelligence, in part, as any system capable of undermining the United States government — a bar that, and I want to be precise here… Congress clears most Tuesdays.
