#1Google Thwarts First Confirmed AI-Generated Zero-Day Exploit
Google's Threat Intelligence Group disclosed it intercepted hackers who used an AI large language model to discover and weaponize a zero-day vulnerability — a first in cybersecurity history. The exploit, a Python script designed to bypass two-factor authentication on a popular web admin tool, contained telltale LLM fingerprints including "educational docstrings" and a hallucinated CVSS score. Google disrupted the planned mass exploitation event before damage occurred and notified law enforcement, with chief analyst John Hultquist declaring "the era of AI-driven vulnerability and exploitation is already here."
